One of Australia's most promising young composers, Mark Oliveiro is a critically acclaimed, award-winning composer of new experimental Art music.
Mark started composing at the age of fourteen experimenting with MIDI, electronic and computer composition. His first large ensemble work, Battaglia for Orchestra was premiered by the Newtown Youth Orchestra in July 2001. In that same year, his solo work Images for Bird was published in the 2002 Higher School Certificate Standards Booklet as an example of high standard work.
In 2002, Mark represented the State of NSW at the ASME conference in Darwin, Australia, in a youth Composition Competition. The Darwin Symphony Orchestra then premiered his second orchestral work Divertimento at the final conference concert in June of 2002.
In 2003, Mark became Founding President of the Sydney Eclectic Composers' Society, a collective of young Australian composers based at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. Under his direction, the Society conceived and executed two year-long critically acclaimed Concert Seasons.
In July of 2004 Mark was awarded entry into Australian wide orchestral workshop and his work was to be performed by Orchestra Victoria after the July workshops of 2004. Orchestra Victoria then workshopped his fourth orchestral work, and first professional commission Order of Chaos in January 2005. During and proceeding his study at the Sydney Conservatorium Mark was affiliated with and wrote music for the Sydney Eclectic Composers' Society, Sydney University Musical Society, the Greenway Quartet and Chronology Arts. In April 2006 Mark graduated from the Sydney Conservatorium, with a Bachelor’s degree with First Class honours. He was also placed on the University of Sydney Dean’s List of Academic excellence in 2006.
In August of 2006 Mark participated in the 3rd International Workshop for Young Composers, at the Castle of Dundaga, Latvia. The ensemble Altera Veritas performed Mark’s small chamber work, Daina on the 18th of August in Dundaga and on the 14th of February in Riga. In September of 2006 Mark was selected to participate in the 45th International Festival of Stresa, Italy. Here his new large chamber work, Bushfire Sun, was performed by the internationally renowned Norwegian chamber group, BIT 20 at the Villa Ponti.
Mark is pursuing his Masters degree in Composition at the Jacobs School of Music at the University of Indiana, and recently received the Dean’s Prize for Electronic Music.

Andrew Quah is an accomplished educator, performer and composer, creating new Australian music that honours the old and redefines the new.
Andrew has seen success in a variety of fields. His musical training began at the age of five, studying piano and later violin and voice. He has performed as both a chorister and a soloist, and took an early interest in performance, featuring, among other roles, as one of the faces in the opening sequence of the popular children’s show Mr. Squiggle.
In 2003, Andrew was a founding member of the Sydney Eclectic Composers' Society, serving as Publicity Officer, and later as Vice-President. With SECS, he worked to realise a number of significant initiatives, including an active concert series showcasing new Australian works, a net-label promoting Australian music to the world, and a HSC education program.
In 2005 and 2006, Andrew was selected to represent the Sydney Conservatorium of Music as its nominee for President of the University of Sydney Students' Representative Council, and sat on that Council as the Conservatorium's first ever elected representative. The same year, Andrew was appointed as Youth Issues Advisor to the NSW State Executive of the Family First Party, and later became a member of the Executive. For the 2007 Federal Election, Andrew was appointed NSW Campaign Director for Family First - a major accomplishment for the then-21 year old.
Andrew formerly sat on the board of the Music Talks Peace Association and was formerly a member of the AART:BOXX committee of Accessible Arts, promoting participation in the Arts by the disabled. Andrew has also lectured for the Royal Horticultural and Royal Agricultural Societies of NSW on the topic of Bonsai, and published several critically acclaimed articles on the subject.
In addition to his diverse roles at O-vation, Andrew is a Member of the Fundraising Institute of Australia and is a consultant to various philanthropic organisations including C.H.I.L.D. Keeping active as a musician, Andrew also tutors in Piano, Composition and Music Theory and is a music teacher candidate for the Australian Music Examinations Board (NSW).
